Scope of Services
Lion Hospice provides a full scope of services including the hospice team, medical equipment, medical supplies and medication related to the terminal diagnosis. We provide a safe, coordinated program of hospice care in a variety of settings, from the time of admission through bereavement, with the focus on keeping terminally ill patients in their own homes as long as possible.
Lion Hospice defines Hospice Care as:
Providing comfort and support to persons in the last phases of an incurable disease so that they may live as comfortably and fully as possible. Care which enhances comfort and improves the quality of a patient's life.
The goals of hospice care:
- Pain control
- Symptom management
- Quality of life improvement
- Enhancement of spiritual and emotional comfort
These goals apply to the patient and his/her family members and/or significant others. Each patient's needs are continuously assessed and all treatment options are explored and evaluated within the context of the patient's values and belief system.
We proved respite services (care given to a hospice patient by another caregiver so that the usual caregiver can rest) and grief support. In addition, we provide necessary supports for end-of-life care.
